abrdn are simplifying their fund range and have decided to merge their underlying fund with another of their funds that has a similar investment objective. They believe it will better meet the needs and expectations of investors.    

The changes are dependent on a vote passing at a special abrdn Annual General Meeting on 29 August 2024. Subject to changes being agreed, we will be updating the name and fund description of our fund as you can see in the table below. These changes will be effective from 27 September 2024. 

If the vote is not passed, there will be no change to our funds, and we will update our website to reflect this. Our website is the quickest and easiest way for you to check on any changes to your funds. 

The current and new fund details are shown in the table below.  

We’ll be updating our fund factsheets to reflect the new fund description. These will be available by visiting our Investment funds and options page once updated.

The SL abrdn UK Income Unconstrained Equity Pension Fund invests primarily in the abrdn UK Income Unconstrained Equity Fund. The aim of the abrdn UK Income Unconstrained Equity Fund is summarised below. 

The fund aims to provide income and some capital growth over the longer term by investing in UK equities. The fund typically holds a concentrated portfolio of stocks and may also hold a proportion in bonds to supplement the income of the fund. The fund is actively managed by our investment team, who will select stocks, without reference to index weight or size, to try to take advantage of opportunities they have identified. Due to the unconstrained nature of the fund investors must be willing to accept a relatively high degree of stock specific risk.

The SL abrdn UK Income Equity 2 Pension Fund invests primarily in the abrdn UK Income Equity Fund. The aim of the abrdn UK Income Equity Fund is summarised below. 

The fund aims to generate income and some capital over the longer term (5 years or longer) by investing in UK equities (company shares). The fund will invest at least 70% in equities and equity related securities of companies incorporated or domiciled in the UK, it may also invest up to 20% in non-UK listed Companies. The fund may also invest in other abrdn funds, money market instruments and cash.  

The fund is actively managed by our investment team, who will select stocks to try to take advantage of opportunities they have identified.
